Accessorize for Fall in Style

When the seasons change, it’s time to give your wardrobe a quick update with a new batch of colorful, budget-friendly accessories. When the season’s hot patterns and trending colors begin to appear in stores, try on all the fabrics, textures, and forms to see which ones you prefer.

Wooden sunglasses

Metal and plastic have their place in your sunglass collection, but it’s time for the woods to shine. These Jord polarized sunglasses have a stunning stacked wood frame constructed of kosso and maple hardwoods. The obvious, contrasting wood grain is a welcome, organic change from my plastic, tortoise-shell frames. These sunglasses are also quite flexible due to their neutral tones and classic style. The Archer Wood Sunglasses ($138) are officially a men’s frame, but that doesn’t stop me from wearing them. The fit is excellent, and the wayfarer has long been a unisex frame shape.

Floral scarf with tassels.

Tassels are the modern way to top off a stylish scarf. This season, Johnny Was offers a lovely selection of tassel scarves, but each one will set you back over $100. Instead, I’d recommend this bright replacement from HSN for $36. When the rest of your outfit is feeling blah, reach for this scarf as a quick fix. It looks well layered over a long-sleeved tee or a neutral sweater and pants.

Jewelry made with safety pins

Safety-pin jewelry was seen on the runways of Versace and Prada in their fall 2019 designs. As one might assume, the fashion-show renditions were far too punk-rock for most of us to wear. But, women, that’s not going to stop us, is it? Because any of us can pull off a more subtle use of the safety pin. This tiny, feminine necklace from Amazon is eye-catching and fashionable without being at all punk rock. For $16, you may add it to your collection.

Beaded handbag

Now that the woven bag trend is receding, we have space in our life for a new purse invention. The beaded bag is filling that void. You’ll see them in a variety of colors and patterns, but this floral arrangement is a show stopper. You can pair it with jeans and a t-shirt for a casual look, or use it as an evening accent – the option is yours! Amazon has it for $68.

Rubber ankle boots

Rubber soles and rubber boots are in Vogue, and I’m wondering why it took so long. Rubber footwear appeals to me since it is robust, attractive, and water resistant. J. Crew Factory sells these for $39.50. Wear your rubber ankle boots with cropped or rolled-up denim. If you’re feeling daring, wear them with a midi dress and black stockings.

I hope you enjoy these fashionable accessories for your fall wardrobe!
